CRTV Constitution

1. The name of the Society is "CAMPBELL RIVER TV ASSOCIATION"

2. The objectives of the Society are:

a) To promote and to endeavour to bring about improved television reception in the Campbell River area and surrounding districts;

b) To apply for and acquire by grant, lease, assignment, transfer or purchase and to exercise, carry out and enjoy and license, permit, authority, franchise, concession, right or privilege which any government or any public body having jurisdiction and control over television and television broadcasting may be empowered to grant, lease, assign, transfer or sell to the Society;

c) To acquire by lease, purchase, gift or exchange and to build, construct, operate and maintain all such television broadcasting and other equipment as may be necessary to carry out the objects of the Society;

d) To acquire by lease, purchase, gift or exchange property or properties and to erect any necessary buildings or other structure in the Province of British Columbia and take over, maintain and manage the same for the purpose of improving television reception in the Campbell River area and surrounding districts;

e) To affiliate with other organizations having similar aims and objects and to endeavour to coordinate the activities of the Society with the activities of such organizations;

f) To advance the welfare and general interests of the citizens of the Campbell River area and surrounding districts from which membership is to be drawn and to be strictly nonsectarian and nonpolitical;

g) To foster and encourage a spirit of cooperation throughout the Campbell River area and surrounding districts;

h) To raise funds for charitable purposes to be administered by the Society or to be contributed to charitable or benevolent organizations;

i) To do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects and the exercise of the powers of the Society.

j) To promote and to provide by itself or in conjunction with any school, school board, or other educational organization, educational Television Services in the area services by the Society.

k) To promote and to provide local origination services in the area serviced by the Society
