Minutes of a Special Meeting of the BOARD OF DIRECTORS held on 20 October 2007 in the CRTV Board Room, 500 Robron Rd., Campbell River, BC.

PRESENT: J. Kerr, L. Marshal, K. Croft, S. Sinnott, B. Henshall and T. Renney.
ALSO PRESENT: Jim Forsyth, General Manager



      1)    Call to Order at 9:10 am.

       2)    GM:   The manager discussed his concerns in regard to his present contract with CRTV. After the managers presentation the Board requested that legal advice be obtained to determine the best course of action.

       3)    Shaw Cable: The letter as attached to the minutes dated the 12 October 07 from a Mr. P. Bissonnette, President of Shaw Communications  Inc. was discussed in detail. It was determined that a letter be couriered to Mr. Bissonnette thanking him for the offer. It is the Boards position that they do not have the authority to sell the assets of CRTV.

  1. Communications: The Board was updated in regard to recent discussions with the Union. It is the Boards position that the Union represents the employees in all aspects of their relationship with CRTV.

The manager updated the Board in regard to the VOD application noting that CRTV had recently received approval from the CRTC. The Board reconfirmed that until the membership have decided on which path to follow, in regard to the Strategic Business Options, that the manager hold off on launching VOD.

The Board then took the time to review a number of recent articles in the local newspapers. It was decided that members should be made fully aware of the pros and cons of  the three strategic options available to CRTV and how CRTV arrived at the three choices.

The upcoming AGM was discussed noting the Maritime Heritage Centre may not adequately serve our purposes.

      5)     ADJOURNMENT:

Moved by B. Henshall, seconded by K. Croft: THAT the meeting be adjourned at 10:48 a.m.
CARRIED.
